Intrigued with fashion at a young age, Mingo observed sewing and other production techniques from his mother, who loved to sew as a hobby. He began by customizing shirts, pants and shoes as a pre-teen and later began to sketch clothes as a teenager. Later as he began to yearn to make an impact in the Fashion Industry.
Today, he has done just that by establishing his own brand of clothing, which has in a short span become a favorite of many. With a personal drive to always do and strive for more, Mingo is working to expand his business to also include accessories and fragrances. He has gained added experience, by studying under popular designer Raif Alifier and apprenticing for Master Tailor Wayfield Ramsey both of Brooklyn, New York. In a quest to learn from the mass production side of the business, Mingo has joined the team of D.Vizionz Apparel, New York, New York.
As one who prides himself on the use of color and various fabric in some cases while maintaining a classic look in others, the designs of Gerald Mingo will be appreciated by fashion forward individuals as well as the fashion traditionalist.
